New Text Technology Fellow: Mateusz Fafinski

Mateusz Fafinski is Text Technologies' newest Fellow. His postdoctoral work for us focuses on the innovative 'CyberText' Project, funded by Stanford's Cyber Initiative, and aiming to prove that patterns determinable from historic text technologies can be used to predict the form and success of future information technologies. While working for Text Technologies, Mateusz, whose doctoral dissertation at Freie Universität Berlin analyzed uses of the Roman past in Anglo-Saxon England, is data-wrangling and producing visualizations that have proved the theory in exciting and completely new ways.
